"One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."

Can't Really Put My Finger On It

Another journal cover I just finished creating, made from an old book cover.
Love using colored tissue paper in the background, to transform the altered book.

I sure have not been a very good blogger as of the past months.  Can't really put my finger on the reason why, other than I've been going through a weird life season. Can't even tell you for sure what makes it weird, other than it's filled with little energy, some disappointments, and even my imaginator  (yes, I made up that word) is lacking in ideas. Guess I've just needed to take a break to get refreshed again.

Have you gone through seasons like this?

"Friends are those with whom
 we feel comfortable enough
to think out loud.”
author unknown

It is so important to keep a  blessing's list.
I know being thankful is one of the keys to living this life well.  Even when we are in the moment of a trial or pain, it's so important to be able to draw strength from a blessing's list.  I don't know how many times in the past that I have re-read my old journal entries and was reminded of how I pulled through a trial long ago or seen how a written out prayer request had been answered.

Do you keep a journal of some sort?
If not, really it is something
you can draw strength from later
when needed.

“We can rejoice too, when we run into
problems and trials,
for we know
that they help
 us develop endurance.”
Romans 5:3

This is so true:

"Count your blessings
and your problems.
If your problems
out number your
 blessings, count again.
Chances are the things
you take for granted
were not added."

oh I'm glad to see you back!
I really miss your posts
when you're away.
I do understand the season thing....maybe your field needed
to go fallow for a little while.
Sending love and care and bright hope to your beautiful heart
(and trusting your imaginator
and energy into big strong generous faithful hands that will
not disappoint you:))
big hug,

Life has its seasons, each one has it's merits and challenges. It gets a whole lot easier when we recognize and settle into them doesn't it :-)

I have never done well to keep a journal - blogging has been my only success at the written word and keeping it! A fact that often amazes me! But I have heard about keeping a journal to record the blessings God gives us - big and small - I think you have just the right idea!!! I pray God works through you more and more, drawing you ever closer to Him! ♥ Keep your focus!! :)

I have to tell you again, how much I enjoy your art!!! Oh and you have lovely handwriting!!!! :)

Love the little birdie! I have been reading your blog, though not commenting. I stopped by today to say hello. Yes, I just came out of a season like you are talking. Sometimes we need those to regroup. I try to journal too, though my handwriting is not nearly as beautiful as yours. :) Anyway. Hope your season passes soon. Rest in it knowing bigger things are coming and you are just preparing for them. ~Lanie J.

Glad to see you back, Lee Ann, and never worry about taking breaks. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art and your uplifting encouragement.

I replied to your question about my tags on my page in case someone else had the same question, but I thought I'd swing by and reply here too. First of all, thank you for your lovely compliment, and as far as the cost, all of my tags are free. I mention it in the top paragraph, but I think I'll highlight it a bit so no one misses it.

I can't begin to explain the joy I get out of giving them away, there are no words, really. I know that if I charge for them, I will lose the "magic." ;) Not that there's anything wrong with charging for our art, but it is how I was led and it's working beautifully.

Let me know which ones you like, and it would be my pleausre.

Much love,

Life involves change and at some times certain things seem more important than others. I understand your need to take a break...I've been feeling that way more and more also, for whatever reason. Maybe my imaginator is lacking too :)

This was a wonderful post, Lee Ann. I think I'm going through a similar season myself. I keep a visual journal of favorite quotes that apply to whatever is happening in my life. I really like your new journal cover. It is a wonderfully cheerful and colorful composition. The textures are terrific too. Have a great weekend. Oh, I listened to Ella's solo - she has been blessed with the gift of music! Hugs, Terri
