"One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."

Because Her Father Loved Her

I didn't have time to do a post this
past weekend
and I wanted  to make sure
and give a tribute to my hubby,
the wonderful father to
our daughters.

These special words were on a
card he received from
our daughter yesterday
and it describes Him so well.

Because her father
listened to her,
she knew she had something to say.

Because he believed in her,
she believed in herself.

Because he said
she could do anything,
she did.

Dad,
So much
of the good stuff in my life
started with you.

Thank you.

Well, as you might well imagine,
I found him all choked up and teary eyed
right after he read those words that
honored him so.

When our daughters were 4 years old
he began taking each one
of them out
to breakfast every other Saturday,
on what became known
and looked forward to
as the Daddy/Daughter Dates.
We have two daughters, so
they each went on a special date
with him once a month.

Our daughters are now 28 and 30 years
old and they still talk about these
special times they spent
with their dad.
I would have given anything as a young
girl to have had a father
that would have wanted to spend
  time with me,
so my hubby blessed me too when he
poured
into our daughters this way.

Honey, thank you for being You and
for honoring your girls the way
that you have.  Thank you
for making a
difference in generations
to come because of
knowing the value of spending
time, listening and believing in
those you LOVE
and who love YOU more than
you will ever know.

So, so touching. What an investment your hubby made in the hearts of your daughters. Now they know how to be loved....how to receive it. It takes some of us a lifetime....
Hooray for men willing to learn the art of fathering!!!

Those are wonderful words. So blessed your girls are to have a wonderful daddy.
I grew up without a dad and my husband was a great dad to my daughter and son. I loved watching him be a Father to them.
I was blessed to read your post.
