"One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."

When We Get Side-Tracked In This Life

Hi my bloggy friends!!

~ I have missed Y♥U ~

Oh my goodness how life's happenings can side-track
us sometimes from the things we hold dear.

Getting ready to have knee surgery in a few weeks after
going through an injury back in October.
It seems I've
been hobbling along since and
coming home from work and just crashing on
the couch with an ice pack.

Anyways, I didn't figure I had much to say
that would be very interesting for you to read the past few
months...but I miss you and blogging too much
to give it up.  I've decided that even a short post is better
than nothing at all.

With Christmas on it's way,
I started reminiscing about past Christmas times
and found this photo to share with you
of my two younger sisters and I all decked out
in our look alike jumpers that our grandma made for us.
 (photo from 1960's)

When I think about how wonderful
it was to have a grandmother who
loved to sew for us and how encouraging
and wonderful it was
to wear something so nice, it makes me
 realize how special it is
when we use our encouragement
 and God given gifts to
help others.
  It's such a simple thing
to give to others using our natural
gifts, whatever that gift is in each of us
such as
encouraging with a written card, or
cooking a meal for someone,
or giving a piece of your art,
or singing a song to them, etc....
I think we sometimes dismiss this idea
 because we don't think
the gift we have,
could make a difference in the life
of someone else.

But it can and it does!!

“A hug is the perfect gift--one size fits all,
and nobody minds if you exchange it.”
--Ivern Ball

“It is expressly at those times when we feel needy
that we will benefit the most from giving.”
--Ruth Ross

I've been feeling a little needy lately

 (a little side-tracked)

so I think this week I will focus more

on giving.

I want to give someone

the awesome feeling I had when I wore

 that brand new jumper!!!

"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
naked, and you clothed Me;
I was sick, and you visited Me;
I was in prison, and you came to Me.
...Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine,
even the least of them,
you did it to Me.’
The Gospel of Matthew 25:35-36,40 NAS

Hi Lee Ann; how wonderful to see you back! :) Your picture brings back so many memories of my mother, who used to sew for me all the time (and even my Barbies-ha!) I was just looking at the pretty little dresses she made for my girls when they were little. :)

The title of your blog speaks so perfectly of who you are and what you wrote here....Being kind and good to others brings happiness which is contagious, causing others to be happy! One of the surest signs of our strength is kindness, because it shows that we are thankful, confident and self-assured. :)

Blessings, love, and prayers to you my friend with your upcoming surgery!

So good to see you back in blogger land. Knee surgery, will this come before Christmas? Goodness not fun to be recovering from durning the holidays. Pray all goes well with the operation and your recovery. Perhaps you will find the time to sketch and paint like this beautiful winter scene, love it! And for sure a few lines in a post is better than the silence my friend :-)

Good to 'hear' from you! :) Great words to ponder - I like the reference in Matthew...never really thought of it in that light...I agree, I don't think that a gift I give could make a difference but you are so right - it can and probably will!

Great photo - glad you shared it! ;) Oh and I LOVE your painting!!!! Beautiful!!!

Lee Ann!
So good to hear from you
....always, always good
no matter the news.
it's your heart that is the gift
and treasure,
not necessarily what you share
or don't share.
we feel the life in your living
even when it's hard
and the light shines bright.
i'll be wrapping some prayer around you for amazing grace
to surprise and delight you
as your knee mends.
healing hugs,
Jennifer

Hi Lee Ann, it's always good to see you back in blogland. I am in the middle of moving at this time, but I couldn't resist stopping by to say hello and welcome back when I saw your name in my box.
You know how I feel about giving, so I couldn't agree more with your post. I often question whether something as simple as a paper tag could make a difference and you would not believe the journeys those little tags make at times. Giving is truly miraculous, even a smile can transform the atmosphere.
Hope to visit again soon after I settle into our new place.
Stay in touch...and Merry Christmas, my friend.
Praying for your knee surgery.
XOXO's,
Marcia

Amen...and yes the gifts God gave us when shared light up someone else's world. I have pictures like that, my mom sewed and made things for every Christmas...I am ready for it to go back to that and leave here is your gift card go get what you wantm type Christmas! LOL

Oh so sorry for your struggles...so many going through health or financial struggles...and there are just times it wears you out. We went through unemployment again and now just in a temporary job...there are days I too feel I have nothing to say, and yet blogging makes me look for the silver lining.

Great to visit you today and blessings on that knee surgery!!

Lee Ann, yours was one of the very first blogs to capture my attention way back when ... I so enjoyed your music selection playing softly as I read your words and admired your artwork. Recently, when I 'checked in' and found no current posts, I thought you must have ceased blogging - but I DID see you popping up in Pinterest! Please know that you DO positively influence others, such as myself ... and may God bless and restore you abundantly in the days ahead.

Sharon,

I tried to find your blog so I could respond to your ever so sweet comment you left me, but couldn't find you anywhere. I must have missed your email too. Anyways, just want you to know your comment was such a blessing to me. THANK YOU!!

Wish playlist.com would still let me have a playlist on my blog, but it will no longer let you. I love music so I'm sad about not having it here.
