"One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."

THERE'S A SONG IN THE AIR

It is the most beautiful and sunshiny day here
in my part of the country.
I can even see my tulips starting to press
through the ground.
How exciting that SPRING is
beginning to show it's beautiful clothing.

There is something so renewing to the spirit of a person
when spring arrives.  God is so wise
to have made the seasons.
Just like the seasons, our hearts find renewal after a
life storm when the light of God's new hope
begins to shine through.
Little by little, we begin to notice new and wonderful
things that we hadn't noticed before, all because
God has enriched our souls as He brought
us through that storm.
He gives us a new song to sing.
We have inspiration and a new way of looking at life
that we haven't had before.

"He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done
and be astounded.
They will put their trust in the Lord."
Psalms 40:3

I pray that I will always remember to stop and look at life,
no matter what it brings,
with the eyes of a child,
.... To cherish every moment and the journeys,
...to laugh a lot and have fun with those I love and
those I will meet,
....to allow myself to cry when it's needed,
....to give lots of hugs and kisses,...to
say "I love you" many times a day, .....to notice
when someone
needs a hand to hold and be there,
...to remain excited about creating and trying new
things with anticipation,...and to remain thankful
to my Heavenly Father
  for everything that I am
because of His Great love for me.

These two pictures are of my granddaughter a few years ago.
I just had to share who I get my inspiration from in
"looking through my life with the eyes of a child".

How about YOU?  What floats your boat?

Remember.....
to go out and sing your song loudly this week!
If I hear you, I will come over and
give you a great BIG hug.

Lee Ann,

WOW just like your posts shows, there is so much to be thankful for now that Spring is on the horizon. Love those adorable pictures of your granddaughter, and you're right, seeing things through their eyes is amazing. They can teach us so much.

I see God has been blessing your blog as well as it has grown so much since we first met. Can't wait to see what it looks like a year from now. God's blessings are many!

I love your 1st picture, Blue Ball jars are my favorite and I put brushes, flowers and everything and anything in them in my studio.
I am happy someone is seeing the signs of spring, I am still not able to see the ground through the snow. But it is melting! Yeah!!!
Many blessing, Deborah. P.S.
I had a button made grab it if you would like to and let me know if it works. :()

Not only is your granddaughter sweet, but the photo itself is excellent, captured her expression beautifully. It's the little things that float my boat, family, friends who 'find you excellent,' quiet moments in places that speak to me, playing in my loft with my art journal and God's whispers in my ear :-)

Hi Lee Ann,
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comment. I love watercolor best, too.

To answer your questions: I went to school for Graphic Design. It wasn't until years later when I became interested in watercolor. I bought a watercolor instruction book one weekend and that's how it all started. I devoured that book and began painting. It was frustrating at first, but I just kept working at it. Later I took a watercolor class from a great teacher who, rather than trying to teach us to paint like her, taught us all about the paints, paper, brushes, techniques and mixing colors. Taking a drawing class is extremely helpful, also. I've learned a lot from books. Northlight book club is a great place to get art instruction books at a good price.

Keep practicing, you can achieve realism if you want to. Either way, you have a nice style now.

Spring always feels like a renewal time to me. The first photo is beautiful and just my kind of flower arrangement. Your granddaughter is an adorable inspiration.
